The City of Stockbrige has updated the parking ordinance.

For streets less than 27 feet wide (including Clark Meadows), no parking is allowed on the street without a permit, and parking is allowed only on the left side of the street with a permit issued by the city. For streets 28 feet to 34 feet wide, parking on the left side of the street is allowed without a permit, and for streets more than 34 feet wide, parking is allowed on both sides of the street without a permit.

For all streets, parking overnight is allowed with a permit, as well as special event parking from Monday through Thursday. Emergency waiver permits for medical reasons will be available on request.

Violators of the ordinance, in addition being subject to having their vehicles towed, can be fined $100 for the first offense, $250 for the second offense and $500 for each violation after that. Homes will receive two courtesy permits, and exemptions will be provided for trade workers performing work at a home. Waivers can be obtained from the city in certain situations for special purposes and a limited time frame.

Of note, holiday and weekend exemptions are provided to allow for parking on the left side of the street without a permit between 5 p.m. on Fridays and 3 a.m. Mondays.
